On Saturday 31 st September our Under 12’s travelled through to Newcastle to partake in a training session with Newcastle United Academy staff. They were all put through their paces by Dave and Connor and they all enjoyed the session thoroughly. The session started with a warm up and then moved onto 1v1’s and 2v2’s
focusing on moving the ball fast and finding space. The boys then moved into a shooting and passing drill and finished off with a 9aside game.
After the training session we travelled to St James’ park where we looked around the club shop and waited for the players to arrive where we caught glimpses of Miguel Almiron, Federico Fernandez and the local brothers Sean and Matthew Longstaff. After that we went for dinner in the platinum suite and were escorted to our seats to watch the Magpies take on Watford.
Three of the players were lucky enough to be ball boys for the game where they were able to sit pitch side right beside some of the players.
All of the boys had a fantastic day and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s just a shame that Newcastle couldn’t get the win.
